My images of other worldly creatures and beings hold a special place in my repertoire. The dominance by Christianity in many Western cultures led to the suppression of ancient folk wisdom and beliefs, even banning them from society.
Growing up in industrialized Manchester, England, I knew nothing of pre-Christian traditions, with the exception of Easter egg hunts and Maypole dances. My interest was rekindled and restored by the stories of C. S. Lewis, Tolkien, and visits to ancient sites like Stonehenge.
My images are a reminder and an inspiration of a rich and beautiful past, roots that I want to recognize and help keep alive in our fast changing world.
